The grapes for this wine were grown by Jericho from bush vines in the Blewitt Springs that were planted back in 1950. The wine was aged in new (15%) and 2nd and 3rd use oak for 10 month prior bottling without any fining or filtration.
A wonderful expression of McLaren Vale fruit with plum and black cherry taking on fresh earth and brown spice. The palate grows in stature with ripe, but balanced dark fruits filling all corners of the mouth. Tannins are fine and give structure, with a saline, integrated line of acidity giving wonderful texture.
There is a charcuterie influence that lingers with drying dark fruits to finish.
