This is a stunning example of Australian Merlot, it has a density of fruit, wonderful texture and the support of oak derived spice that is wonderfully integrated.
The nose is a heady mix of plum, dark chocolate and brown spice; a suggestion of fresh earth is somewhere in the background.
A medium to full bodied wine that has breadth of chocolate laden dark berry fruits, tannins are fine and take on graphite with a seductive impact of new oak filling out the mid palate. There is old leather and driving plum fruit to finish, the length is excellent.
