Interestingly the wine is made from Merlot, a generally uncommon approach for a sparkling wine with Pinot Noir usually the choice. The resultant wine is very good and in no way is it reminiscent of a sparkling table wine. There is sweet strawberry and raspberry fruit on the nose that leads to a lush and supple palate that is brimming with primary red berry fruits and an understated brioche like creaminess, acidity is well handled with citrus threads giving definition and length to finish.
