2022 Rosenthal The Marker Pinot Noir

The colour is a medium red hue and the nose opens up with black cherry, earth and a weave of spice. The palate is supple but layered, the wine beguiles its alcohol with wild strawberry and plum playing the fruit notes; tannins are soft, but there is well handled acidity that gives drive and emphasis to the understated earthen notes on the mid palate. The finish is juicy and driven by red berry fruits, with the gentle lift of spice giving a thread of richness.

Even though in its youth, a couple of years in bottle will see even more complexity come to the fore.
