The grapes were sourced from a couple of vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, and plenty of winemaking technique is on show here. There were 30%whole bunches as part of the carbonic fement (exclude air) before bottling with minimal sulphur.
A decidedly bright and light red in the glass; aromatics are punchy with a floral and spicy rendition of red cherry on the nose. The palate is juicy and bright, but there is enough weight and texture to the fruit to make the wine complete. I enjoy how it moves from candied cherry to gentle spice and savoury stemmy nuance all in a matter of seconds. A wine to enjoy young whilst the interplay between fruit, and savoury impact is at its best.
