I am a fan of rose produced from Sangiovese, the wines natural acidity and more savoury tones lend itself well to rose as it meshes well with a wine that you expect to have a strong baseline of acidity.
A pretty burnt orange in the glass the nose is dominated by wild strawberry fruit, the palate opens up with expansive strawberry and rhubarb that fills every corner of the mouth, before a savoury line of acidity pulls things back together alongside red apple and the faintest touch of liquorice. The finish is dry and savoury.
