The 2010 Seventy Six from Penfolds is a wine inspired by the original 1976 Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet , a blend that is still drinking well today.
The 2010 represents excellent value for money, it is a medium red in colour, with dark fruits, a touch of olive and subtle oak characters on the nose.
The palate has lots of complexity with dark chocolate, blackberry, and even some cherry cola characters. The oak is rich without being cloying and the tannins are very fine and drying.
The length is very good, and the wine will reward medium term cellaring.
