An interesting blend of varieties but it works well and is very good value at $21 a bottle.
A vibrant red in the glass, the nose gives top notes of dark cherry and plum fruit with a toffee apple like sweetness. The constituent varieties all make themselves known on the palate with tightly bound plum coming from the Shiraz, fleshier blue fruits and drying tannins from the Malbec and in true Tempranillo style there is an earthiness to the wine that dominates the finish. There is a lot to like about this wine now, and it will evolve well over the shorter term.
