2017 After Five Wine Co Serata

The grapes for this wine were sourced from the Stansborough vineyard in the Barossa and it is a blend of Montepulciano, Aglianico and Shiraz. The wine is a youthful but deep red with some purple hues; the nose has generous, bright red berry fruits before moreish plum and dark cherry fruits make themselves known.

There are pretty primary fruits of wild cherry and strawberry that move to deeper plum across the palate with a charcuterie and bitter dark chocolate influence. Tannins are fine and acid is flowing with fennel and liquorice giving a lovely embellishment to the finish.

A wine that is impressive with its youthful concentration but has the structure to reward medium term cellaring.
