A blend of the best barrels from a select part of the Driftwood vineyard provides a couple of layers of quality control, with the resultant wine showing the impact.
2021 wasn't the easiest of years in Margaret River, but this is an excellent release that has such tension and structure, and above all undeniable class.
The nose has tightly bound white peach alongside flint and vanillin spice. The wines acidity is profound, it is mineral and crystalline and the perfect counterpoint to stone fruits, fig and almond meal that for the moment are only a suggestion but will show themselves with time. A wine that is deeply enjoyable now but makes you marvel on what it will be in the future.
