The wine was declassified from the 'Dry Riesling' and helped to provide a continuation of production for the Stein family amid the drought, fires and coronavirus pandemic that plagued 2019 / 2020. As a declassified wine, there is still plenty to enjoy from one of the great Riesling producers in Australia.
A light yellow in the glass with lime, citrus blossom and a touch of dry honey. The palate has citrus at its core, acidity is well handled but it does miss the concentration of fruit that is typical of the release.
That being said this is a balanced, textural wine that will give plenty over the coming few years.
