2017 Mount Avoca Estate Fume Blanc

The fume style of Sauvignon Blanc refers to a wine that has been aged in barrel and on lees, it is a style that provides texture and savoury notes whilst also producing wines that can typically age more than a tank fermented Sauvignon Blanc. The nose is subtle mix of pear with a gentle herbaceous but overwhelmed by significant impact of vanillin oak. The oak is the wines defining characteristic from start to finish with some baking spice and brown pear accentuated by the impact of both citrus fruit and gentle apricot tones to finish.
